The West Midlands Training Course in Clinical Chemistry represents the academic component of the West Midlands Training Scheme in Clinical Biochemistry. The course provides a course of study for Clinical Scientists and Specialist Registrars studying for professional qualifications in Clinical Biochemistry. The course organising committee organise study days on alternate Fridays, during the academic terms, Hospital Education Centers, around the Midlands. The course, in combination with various elements of the training schemes, for trainee NHS Scientists and Specialist Registrars, has been accredited for the award of an MSc or Diploma in Clinical Biochemistry by the University of Birmingham.
